Serb settlements were not any less permanent that Venetian ones. Their cultural influence is similar as well, at least in the North.

In the north yes, but no way they affected more than venetians the south (even though we are talking about different eras, and other than eastern sterea they didn't contact the south )

There isn’t a church in the northwest that isn’t essentially Serbian ( goes for the FYROM stuff as well). At least not before 1922. Even in the south there are like 3 churches total that are pre-Slav. I gotta find my list of late Byzantine Thessalian nobles...

Yes, as north as edessa and florina that was the norm, it changed, however, in South Macedonia

E-V13 peaks in Thessaly in southeastern region where Vlachs first appeared. In my opinion Vlachs of Greece were "conservative" genetically with cheif halpogroups as J2 and E-V13. Slavic ancestry comes mostly from Slavs themselves seeing the toponyms.

What is irritating about his excellent work is that he, like all Balkan historians, fails completely to address the ethnic cleansing the Byzantines undertook of the slavs in the peloponnese. The greater number of the slavs in the peloponnese were not assimilated - they were forcibly removed and dumped mostly in central anatolia by the Byzantine army. Seeing how nearly every greek academic is a leftist, one can undersrand why they wish to omit this key expulsion - however I believe it is key to understanding the demise of the slavs in the peloponnese as well as why you get a fair few lighter featured turks in central anatolia.

What ethnic cleansing? I am pretty sure some Slavs were expelled but it would better for Wikipedia to elaborate on "most".
