Out of curiosity where would you place this man. He was a very good family friend and fairly famous American baseball player.

Southern Poland. Galicia or Upper Silesia. Probably South-Eastern (Subcarpathia, part of Galicia) is most likely.

BTW, later I will post another thread "Polish Phenotypes: West to East".

Great vids. I hope their necks didn't hurt too much due to all that nodding lol.
The women don't look that much different than Swedes, but the men look more distinct and closer to neighbouring countries.

    ^^^
Remember that women in all of Europe use makeup and often dye their hair, which makes them look more similar to each other.

Dont really see much of a phenotypic difference between the regions.

Based on statistical data there actually are some differences.

Over 50% of NW Poles have blue eyes (even more in the North-East) while in the South 35-47% (even less in the South-East).

And a very similar pattern exists when it comes to light hair.

First of all one notices high sexual dimorphism. Women belong to different phenotypes than men... Were they selected to look different?

    Women: Alpine, Baltid
    Men: Dinaric, Pontid, Aryan

Those from Poznan look influenced by Germans. As a consequence, many faces could easily be Scandinavian or English...

Overall, the majority look is HIGHLY un-Slavic (just like in Romanians). It is obvious that Slavs were not native to Poland, but came there in much greater number than in Balkans due to closer proximity of their homeland and lack of natural barriers.

South has more Balkan phenotypes than North.
