I cry in the final scene of All Quiet on the Western Front. It is ironic this movie was made in 1930 and WWII started in 1939.

The film and books were banned and burned in Germany when Hitler came to power and the he had to flee to Switzerland as the Nazi's did not appreciate his depiction of war in a negative light.

Absolutely a stunning peace of work. The way he at the end of the war just become almost non human as nothing matters anymore as he has seen death all around him. War is absolutely awful.

By now, the war is nearing its end and the German Army is retreating. In despair, Paul watches as his friends fall one by one. It is the death of Kat that eventually makes Paul careless about living. In the final chapter, he comments that peace is coming soon, but he does not see the future as bright and shining with hope. Paul feels that he has no aims or goals left in life and that their generation will be different and misunderstood.

In October 1918, Paul is finally killed on a remarkably peaceful day. The situation report from the frontline states a simple phrase: "All quiet on the Western Front." Paul's corpse displays a calm expression on its face, "as though almost glad the end had come."

This book and movie really appeals to the emotions and as a Pisces I understand it as it makes me feel for humanity.

Of the options above, I chose Gladiator and The Lord of the Rings.

Citizen Kane is often cited as the "best film ever", due to how revolutionary it was, I couldn't care less about it to be honest. Star Wars has some incredibly irritating fans, not all obviously.

My favourite films are the Alien and The Matrix franchises some Jackie Chan films, Lock, Stock & Two Smokin' Barrels, In Bruges, Rock n' Rolla, Snatch, Fight Club and other films like them.

Only Citizen Kane and Casablanca deserve to be up there, but Treasure of the Sierra Madre is even better than Casablanca
