Males vs females phenotypes in one ethnicity

I've read few comments on this forum that certain ethnicities have difference between male and female phenotypes,
for example, males are more nordic and females are more alpine phenotype.

Is that really possible to happen or is it because certain phenotypes are less noticeable in females so they are missed in classification?
