As soon as it got auto-installed on my laptop, the built in camera just completely stopped working.

My Windows 8 desktop automatically updated to 10 without my knowledge or consent. When I logged in again, I noticed my sound wasn't working and troubleshooted. Microsoft told me there was something wrong but offered no way to fix it. I tried updating the drivers, didn't work. Tried resetting the system at least 5 times, didn't work. Nobody on any tech support forums seemed to know of a way to fix it either.
The only thing that even allowed me to get my sound back was to switch to microsoft's own sound driver.
