The Northeast, easily
It has the best of all four seasons, the scenery is simply beautiful (mountains, beaches, wetlands, rolling hills, plains, lakes, and plenty of greenery makes the region feel very full of life), the food, entertainment and cultural options are the best, the job market and economy are stable and strong, it has a truly progressive, "live and let live" mentality plus it has the lowest violent crime rate of any region in the US (yet it has the highest population) and basically, the best educated Americans live mainly there.

America is divided in two parts. The civilised North East + California. And Jesusland.

The Northeast and Chicago are also favorite and I have relatives in both places. I'd recommend Europeans visit only two cities in the USA: New York and Boston. But search Camden or Newark New Jersey, North Philly, or the eastern part of Washington DC and then say there is no violent crime in the Northeast.
The south, and even the midwest. I wish I lived there.
