If someone like the leader of a religion like the pope shows that its ok to be yourself then I think it can be step forward to be have more acceptance in churches, and move forward into the whole feud religion has with homosexuality.

I think in this particular case the Pope did the right thing, the most loving thing, but remember the guy is a victim of rape, and he is weak and bottom. The one who raped him is also gay, who abused him. I dont get how people think immediately that if someone is a child diddler he is not gay, he is gay too if he fucks boys, a pederast. I think we are brainwashed to think "but he is not really gay" etc. excuses. Generally homosexuality is bad, and evil. But in that particular case it would be inhumane if the pope attacked the man instead of giving him love.

Only a stupid or blinded person would mistake a warning about hellfire as anything other than love. Ironically, it was the abuse that, no doubt, led to this man's homosexuality. If the pope were a true Catholic, much more a true Christian, he would have urged the man to repent.

The church was never against homosexuality as a sexual orientation, nor the bible says anything against the sexual orientation itself since sexual orientations are a modernist concept, what is punishable is to put into action your sodomist desires (a.k.a. actually have gay sex)... the pope should've encouraged him to live a live of celibacy, instead of just straight up saying it's okay for him to be gay and, in practice, perform gay sex with others.

Yes and heal him, from that abuse and that he is now homo. The Pope should have healed him I think. I agree it was not really right, but it is what he says, I dont know if the Pope really said it that way, and why.
