Yeah, even Boner & Co. butcher everything they say when they say it in a foreign language. Brazilians should do what Spaniards do, when speaking in Castilian in Spain and you use an English loan word you just Castellanofy the word to match your language, then switch to proper English phonetics when actually speaking English.

New Yorkers are known for that. They are just generally rude. I guess it's part of being in a big city, but they are usually ruder than other big cities.

I generally hate New Yorkers. I remember I was on a boat in the Cajun Bayou and there were other tourists there, and there was this loud obnoxious New Yorker Woggish family that kept crowing in their annoying NY accent about how small the alligators were and how they really need to be impressed by something big cuz they were from NOOOO YAAAAWWWKKKK even as our friendly Cajun guide kept jumping in the river and wrestling gators up by the tail, I really wanted to just throw them into the swamp along with the gators and say "Are they big enough for you now??"

I guess many also do it on purpose to add to their Latino vibe. Some cultural identity thing. It's actually not easy to escape it neither, because of peer pressure. In my teens I used to hang out a lot with Dutchmen and my language Hollandified. I was met with occasional ridicule by my fellow Flemish for it. It's just tribalism.
