In total, I am 25% Naxian with distant Cretan ancestry, 1/4 Skyros, and half Lakonian from the Eastern slopes of Taygetos. I made this to see whether I have a more islander or Peloponnesian affinity. Also, in response to the whole mainland greece "NE shifted" controversy, has it struck anyone that mainland Greece was more IE influenced from ancient times especially with tribes such as the Dorians while the Islands were sparsely influenced by these migrations?

Technically my village falls within the region "Eastern Mani" but Smynos is usually never considered Maniot. It is north of Gytheio

Taygetos shifts away from most Peloponnesians and towards Mani (and the islands I guess), that's why you don't have much mainland affinity.

Interestingly, no, it comes directly from Crete like 5 generations back. It comes from near the village of Vrysses east of Chania. I was surprised to see it as most Cretans have J2.

yep, western crete. I don't know enough about haplogroups but specifically familytreedna says its E-L117. Is EM215 not the same as EM35?

crete is 10% E but it can reach up to 30% in the west iirc.
