Could be, yes. Macedonian Greeks seem to have a lot of foreign input all around whether West Asian or Slavic.

Or they could be descendants of Bulgarians or Slavo-Macedonians who were assimilated

Iraqi Jews are clearly mostly Assyrian and not Levantine.

What you don't realize is that there was no genetic difference between any Macedonian living in today's Greek Macedonia pre 1912, weather Bulgarian or Greek, they were all mixed.
I am descendant of one of those Macedonians, and I am not a Greek by your standarts of being Greek, however I've seen many results of Greek Macedonians, some of them are my matches on Gedmatch, and there is hardly any difference...

Some of the Central Greeks are clearly islanders.

But if I remember correctly, you are originally from a Greek region. To me, it makes sense that you are close to Greek Macedonians. I don’t think that some Slavo-Macedonian from Skopje is going to be genetically identical to Greek Macedonians though.

Anyway, the general consensus in Greece is that Greek Macedonians didn’t mix extensively with Bulgarians or Slavo-Macedonians.

That's true for the first part of your answer.

    Not true for the second...
There were many mixed marriages between Greeks and Bulgarians during history, even today!

I agree that today there are a lot of Greek-Bulgarian marriages, but back then people were way more backwards and conservative. Intermarriages certainly happened, but I’m not sure about how common they were

I don't know why is that the general opinion in Greece, could be because of historical warfare between Bulgarians and Greeks and recent hatred because of Macedonia but Greeks and Bulgarians did mix...
They mixed during the Bulgarian empire, during the Byzantine empire and also during the Ottoman empire.
They mixed because both people were of the same religion and there were no such borders as today.
Also there was no language barrier because in the past most of the people were bilingual...

    There is something wrong here.
This Bulgarian score 35.93 for Baltic.
No chance he would get Bulgarian first with that Baltic score...
