Default has something (scene in a movie, song, a performance, book, etc) ever moved you to tears?

Sometimes I get moved to tears when watching a really good movie, reading a really good book, hearing a really epic song, watching a truly breathtaking performance (athletic or otherwise), or when I see real-life heroes in action. I used to think I was weird, or just overly emotional/sensitive, because well... I'm a guy

I guess what I'd like to know is what people would think/how people would react if they saw a guy crying during a movie, or something like that. I always hold it back when I feel it coming on when I'm with other people, I even try to hold it back when I'm alone.

I cry at movies all the time, but music makes me more emotional than any other medium.

I wouldn't care if I saw a guy crying during a movie. You shouldn't hold back when you're alone though, crying can be very therapeutic.

I regularly cry at movies, music, books... I found hard to stop the tears, once I even started crying during literature class in school
We are all humans, we have emotions, and if something touch my soul, i will express it, even trough tears.

I don't see anything bad if guy cry at films. I don't understand all that "man shouldn't cry" thing. Man who don't feel shame of his tears is actually a real man.

Some drama movies, particularly tragic love dramas and death sequences of likeable actors/actresses embedded into a sad ambiance. Lost and Delirious, What Dreams may come, The Lovely Bones, Ghost, My Sister’s Keeper, The Elephant Man, Dancer in the Dark...

Yes tons of things...sucky television commercials put on by the Mormons for one (damn them! ), movies like Beaches, Terms of Endearment, Steel Magnolias...you know typical chick-flickie stuff that makes women cry. The very best and most cathartic experience was seeing The Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages Theatre in Toronto ages ago. I cried like a baby throughout the entire thing.

It's good to be moved so deeply by such things every now and then. It makes one feel alive, be you man, woman or child.

The last thing to make me go to tears was Reagan's farewell address from 1989:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKVsq2daR8Q

With him ended America's last great age of prosperity and greatness. Now, look at the country. Love the man or hate him, he was certainly one of the most influential and charismatic U.S. Presidents of all time.

    Default Moved to Tears

The "Blicket auf.........zum Retterblick" passage in Mahler's 8th Symphony always moves me to tears. It's just so achingly beautiful.

Also, for years, I could never finish singing "The Lost Chord" because I always became choked up at the words "It may be that Death's Bright Angel will speak in that chord again........."
