I would say Serbs are Byzantine Slavs, or Slavs of the former Eastern Roman cultural space. That describes them well. Genetically they should be the descendants of South Slavs, Thracians, Paeonians and Illyrians.

In my opinion, Serbians and Greeks resemble each other (high percentage of Mediterranid phenotypes like Pontid that I like to call Med phenotype of Orthodox Christian countries lol, strong Dinarization in mountainous areas, existence of Alpinids, etc...), but Serbs undoubtedly have more northern genetics (more Slavic origin than Greeks, and Thracians/Illyrians also had much more Steppe origin than, for example, the Mycenaeans, who were the most classic Meds by genetics)
