But why the modern borders? The 1933 borders make more sense, since the modern borders are Soviet Creations. The Soviet theft of Eastern Poland shouldn't be recognized, and Lemberg will be Polish again some day.

1) I know, Lemberg is also the traditional English name for it. It's the same reason I still write Peking, Bombay, Persia, etc...
2) Really, any time from 1923-1938 would work. (i.e. after the post-WWI borders were set, but before the Anschluss and reunification of the Sudetenland)

mine is extremely boring, I'm mostly colonial with lines going as far as 17th century in the new world, the only, "wow" I have are my paternal great-grandparents who were from eastern europe.

From my mum. Pretty much every line that is still British 6 generations ago is Sephardic, as are the Caribbean lines. The Indian/Iraqi ones are Mizrakhi.

Not that I know of, but DNA evidence suggests I do, maybe at the 1/32 level, from Eastern Europe, probably Poland or Ukraine.
