Default Do you support mixed-gender bathrooms?

So apparently some liberals are trying to advocate for mixed-gender bathrooms, probably because of transgender nonsense or something.

I think it would be a terrible idea, but what about you?

No, except for limited conditions e.g. where the restroom is single-stall and a second is not feasible due to space, etc. Particularly not in an age dominated by social and cultural clashes, not to mention considering the rise in sex crimes and similar incidents as of late. Gender-specific restrooms serve the instinctive, age-old purpose of retreating and having some privacy from the other gender. There is a certain logic in having anatomically separate ones, particularly since partial nudity, personal grooming and exposure of genital organs may be involved. Overtime they've also become places for gender-specific socialization, make-up sessions, clothe-adjusting, office break chatter, private phone calls and the like. Now Europeans have traditionally had a more relaxed approach towards nudity and we already have certain mixed-gender mediums like saunas and baths. Even in saunas though, changing rooms, showers and restrooms are divided by gender (in addition and there are age restrictions). Segregated restrooms provide for a certain sense of security, even in places like saunas, where people are otherwise fine with walking around full commando. There is often also a ladies sauna or bathing suit area available for those who are uncomfortable doing it. Conversation is frowned upon, and it's generally considered poor manners to have "wandering eyes". But not everyone understands the sauna culture - particularly since the European refugee crisis, there have been incidents in public baths where women were sexually assaulted, migrant men forced their ways into their bathroom stalls or harassed women at the door, what lead to restrictions or bans. Unlike saunas and baths, such regulations cannot really be imposed in public restrooms, since they are places one has to go when nature calls, there is no alternative. In countries like the US, where public nudity is more taboo, it would probably pose even more of an issue.

Yes, it's mostly propagated by transsexuals, particularly those who haven't had SRS yet, and would normally have to use the restroom assigned to their biological gender. Also those who don't identify with a particular gender, or identify with both. It wasn't really an issue before, the opposite gender would only use the other restroom in case of emergencies (e.g. the other one was full/occupied, sickness, mothers with small children who didn't want to leave the child alone). The idea is also popular with leftists, particularly students who want to do some acceptance "activism", e.g. 'Poop Equality'. They tend to believe it is largely a question of social conditioning - each gender has formed a specific habit of behaving as if gender dynamics were removed in those places and expecting them to actually be removed. Sadly though, the concept that according to left-wing, egalitarian fantasies looks like this:

would in reality, sooner or later, turn out more like this:

    ,

especially if implemented in schools and similar settings, where the processes of education and maturity are still underway, not to mention potentially turning into favorite grounds for sexual predators. There are actually documented cases where sexual predators used non-discrimination laws protecting gender identity to sexually assault women: The Threat to Women and Girls Presented by Bathroom Bills:
Paul Witherspoon is a biological male who was convicted in 1990 for sexually assaulting one teenage girl and indecency involving sexual contact with another teenage girl. He is a registered sex offender. In 2012, however, Witherspoon was spotted wearing women’s clothing going into the women’s bathroom in Dallas, where he would have access to young girls. He was ticketed by a Dallas policeman. But Witherspoon claims to be “transgender,” and says that he has every right to use the bathroom with women and girls. He says that it is discriminatory to deny him the right to use the women’s facilities.
Such incidents are bound to cause concern, particularly since statistics revealed that in most reported cases of women being sexually assaulted by transgender men, the incidents occurred in restrooms, locker rooms and other private spaces. Also, according to a study, post-SRS males have higher rates of criminality than the general public. Lumping everyone together in the same space would risk increasing the likability of such incidents, and become primary attractions for sexual predators and peeping Toms. Women who have been groped, harassed, or otherwise sexually assaulted in public are probably not interested in opening the door to a more private place for that to happen. And it's not just women; they are as intrusive, provocative and unnatural to the male gender, by removing urinals and pushing feminization campaigns that men should "do it sitting down" -- Sweden's Left Party to ban men from urinating while standing:
Viggo Hansen, the Left Party official, who made the proposal, said he ultimately wants toilets at the council offices to be genderless and therefore want to see only the sitting toilets in council offices.
A truly politically correct toilet arrangement however would rather include a third, "other" category, which could be used by people who don't identify with their biological sex (transgender, fluid, "non-binary", or any other of these supposed 70 extra genders). Some people have also suggested providing separate, "family" restrooms where the doors lock entirely and the full facility is dedicated to the individual(s) inside. Some malls, for example have this option already. But I fear that this wouldn't really appease and satisfy everyone's demands either, and it would not always be feasible due to cost or space reasons. Surely, in this day and age it's common to want to ensure service and accommodation to anyone and everyone. But one must also weigh the costs. Should acceptance mean that everyone else bend their ways and dump age-old traditions according to the will of a small percentage of the population? And where will it end? If mixed-gender restrooms, why not also locker rooms, showers, prisons, etc. etc.?

To sum up, I think that the government and businesses in society owe it to the people to do their best to accommodate the widest array as possible while not sacrificing the very service in order to give anyone anything they demand. Particularly those conducting private businesses (restaurants, bars, cafes, malls) operate pragmatically. Because of this, a certain small percentage might fall through the cracks. That isn't always ideal, but not as sad as destroying a business or system in order to attempt to do everything to everyone.

Yes because when you gotta go, you gotta go. Whenever the girl's is occupied I use the men's anyway. Haven't had a problem yet.

No. Female bathroom in public places is the place where I feel safe even to rest for a while if needed. I never used men's bathroom. I think it is not common here at all for women.

I have used them before and there's no real difference to be honest.
