Since they werent larger than pardos tri racials and mulattoes, Brazilian census only use pardo now for all mongrels.

Interesting. According to this table the number of cablocos from the year 1872 to 1890 increased 234,4%, whereas the number of pretos in the same period increased 7,3%.

I stopped looking at brazilian census a long ago because it is purely based on self declaration.
