I have always considered Croatians to be more familiar in terms of traits (some have more Western European facial features and genetically more Western shifted) and genetic in relation to Poles, for example. But i suppose that genetically, it must depend on Croats and some pull more towards the East, others more towards the West, and so on. I know Croats and Hungarians, personally, these are the people with whom I have contacts. I also have a half-Hungary brother-in-law.

I don't think that they are particuliarly close to French honestly. I can see some overlap definitely as France has Dinarid types and Central Euro phenotypes also but that's nothing in regards to neighbor countries.

Well, it's because you don't live in the Northern France. Here, people looks special (see my father and his cousin, and my cousins).

I know well how northern french look like (and I've met a lot IRL).

I don't deny the overlap with Croatia, I simply don't believe that he's stronger than the overlap with Germany, England, Belgium, Switzerland for northern areas and Spain, Italy for southern areas.

I know quite a few northern french that are meds also.

You have many Atlanto-Med in Northern France. All of my cousins are Atlanto-Med or purest Dinaric type. Some are more mixed Alpinoid type.

In all the classes I went to, no face I saw (private Catholic school in the North of France, with almost fully whites) never seemed to me extremely different from mine or that of my father, who is a mostly Nordist frog!

You have Blond atlanto-med and blond alpinoid, brunette alpinoid and brunette atlanto-med, blues eyed alpinoid and atlanto-med, type but whatever the pigmentations, it's not importants.

But it is my experience of my childhood: Vitry-en-Artois, Douai, Courcelles-lčs-Lens, Arras. etc
