I am a mix of both very southern (black forest) and east (dresden area) german. I'm also a mix of the British isles.
Here are my 23andme results:
This basically perfectly aligns with family knowledge.
On the k13 test, all the single populations make sense. They align more or less with my 23and me results. I understand I'm not super close to a single population because I'm a mix myself. Upon checking the given spreadsheet, the numbers match up pretty close to places such as West german, south dutch, east german, Austria, and southwest English. This all makes sense.
However, why does the mixed population results keep giving me strange combinations like "Croatia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, etc"? I know I don't have family from these areas.
Upon checking the spreadsheet i see my percentages don't even cooralate with any of them. Numerous categories for croatia, moldova, Romania etc are off by at least 10, some even over 15.
Why do these pop up?
