Arabs in China

I think they will assimilate into Chinese culture or if not them their descendants. Well at least they seem to be happy in China

Its really sad how the arabs in many arab countries were killed and displaced. Who do you blame the most StonyArabia? The americans, the israelis, arabs themselfes (rebells infighting etc.)? Arabs could be rich too its sad they need to go to other countries and that their countries are destroyed.

I've been to that city, Yiwu, it is the largest wholesale trading city in the world.

There are a lot of MENA and Africans there, they are mostly traders. Most have learned Chinese. There are whole neighborhoods with mostly MENA. It felt like I was in the Middle East in some parts.

I think if they settle in China, their descendants will become like the Hui Moslems, who are descended from prior waves of Arab and Persian traders.

This might sound pretty incredible but the city actually built a mosque in 2004 just to attract more traders from the Middle East to settle there to boost business.

There are tens of thousands of MENA who live in the city now.

It's the world's largest wholesale trading center, so it makes sense from that perspective. It is a relatively small city but has a huge footprint in the world's small trading business. Nothing glamorous but it is a major commerce center that was nothing more than a rural backwater just 20 years ago.

All three really, though the rebels wouldn't even had remotely survived if it wasn't for the corrupt governments of America and the Arab world. Israel is pretty much controls these countries by proxy.

Right now, China on a per capita basis would be considered a middle income country.

But considering the rate that it is building world class infrastructure and overall efficiency of its economy and governance, I would not be surprised if within the next 30 years, China has one of the highest living standards in the world, especially with the younger generations being far more educated than the previous ones. A lot of the new infrastructure in China really is amazing and better than any Western country I've ever seen, and it is very seamless, just moving around in new, vast metro stations to high speed rail, etc.

Not to mention on the fact that the Hui have Arabian and Iranian Y-DNA haplogroups in their gene-pool.

I believe it's mostly due to Western Anglo-American imperialism and neo-colonialism, and of course Israel also has played a large role in their displacement, and not mention the corrupt Arab regimes, not all, but many of them are like Tippo said imposed on them in one way or another. Not to mention the civil wars that occur because of political manipulation.

Quite interesting. I hope to see China myself, because it's one of the oldest civilization. It was amazing to see them being fluent in Chinese and are even taking some Chinese cultural aspect.

Indeed, the Arabs and Persians have always had contact with China since antiquity. Not to mention that many of these Arabs will be probably indeed assimilate into Chinese culture, because there are not historical grievances and hostilities like there is between the Arabs and Europeans with the Chinese, and this of course helps in the case of assimilation. Plus many of these Arabs in China, seem to want China to be their home rather than go back, like many of those in Europe.
