Yeah, but they weren't Serbs. Almost all Slavic nations at the time (Croatia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, B&H) admired Serbia for being an independent nation. In Dalmatia was a strong pan-Slavic movement which aimed for independence from Austria. Other factors worth mentioning that also contributed to Serb Catholic movement were vicinity to Montenegro and Serbian propaganda and the latter was especially seen in letters between one writer from Dubrovnik who was explaining the situation that was going on there and Strossmayer. Of course, only a small part of people of Dubrovnik were supporters of Serb Catholic movement, unfortunately mostly intellectuals. They even ruled Dubrovnik for 10 years, but lost elections after people realized that things have gone to far. It was a short lived movement, but nevertheless damaging.
