The Medieval Era, or the Modern Era... which would you rather have been born into?

Medieval times. There was no contraception, marriages were about breeding and inheritance, not "love", which doesn't even really exist, there was very little multiculturalism, and I prefer the crusader/Deus Vult mentality to the refugees welcome/Eurabia one.

Also in the Middle Ages my family was apparently rich and owned a lot of land and property.

The Arab golden age, I would stop Ibn Al-qami's betrayal and would do a conquest against the Mongols if I was born in Iraq. However I would like to be an Ummyad Prince, I would defeat Charles Martel, and push the Arabs into Germany and create one of the largest empires the world has ever seen.

I like earlier periods where spiritual life was more important.

I always wondered about going back in time to the Middle Ages, but would be worried about quickly being killed in either war or disease, as that was so prevalent. Life was much more uncomfortable then in comparison. If you start with what you have now, it would be hard to live.

If time travel were possible, I'd like to merely observe as a kind of invisible person or ghost rather than actually get involved in it.

That being said I'm much more interested in the world of Classical Antiquity or Late Antiquity, or very Early Middle Ages.

But why do you want Europe to be Arabized/Islamicized?

How about Europeans stay in Europe and don't go Crusading, and Muslims stay in the MENA region and don't immigrate to Europe?
