Galician and Portuguese are different languages, even though they share the same origin (Galaico-Portuguęs). The words we use are similar, same with grammar patterns, but the pronunciation has developed quite differently throughout the centuries.
Still completely understandable and by the far most similar language to ours, more so than Castilian (which is already quite similar to Portuguese).

Well said, Ave. This is one of the thousands of useless threads on TA, discussing here will not change anything. You are all plebeians and you will never have the ability to change politics or humanity. Galicia will still Spain. Although I predict that many idle will waste time debating here.
