Hard to compare because some of those artists like Prince and Bob Dylan were solo artists and both wrote most of their songs/music by themselves in Prince's case he often played every instrument on his albums as well as self producing the albums.
The Beatles were just the right combination of players that all played a part in creating the unique and specific Beatles sound.
The Brilliance of Lennon and Mcartney's co songwriting, George Harrisons writing contributions and unique guitar work.
They were one of the most interesting and innovative , interesting pop icons of the 60's.
I think Led Zepplin was much more influential than L.Skynard and hence more relevant in the number of bands that took something from their style... Led Zepplin would be the Beatles of 70's rock.
Other artist's that could fit in your list due to their impact would be Jimi Hendrix ... was huge influence on Prince and sooo many guitar players... and truly original of his time.
From your list I think certain artists represented icons of certain era's .
As a solo artist Prince was a standout for his generation and since the 80's to his recent passing I dont think there has been anyone like him in terms of ability to be high level song and danceman performer as well as multi instrumentalist, innovative composer and producer etc.
Dylan is the iconic solo songwriter -poet of his era from the 60's onwards.
Led Zepplin were the iconic Rock group of the 70's whose influence can still be felt amongst many rock bands.
U2 were an iconic group from the early 1980's , ability to be same group but make really diverse and interesting albums throughout there career, Bono is a Rockstar.
I would add Hendrix, Queen, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac and of course the Rolling Stones too ,
other great artists : Eagles, Doors, Neil Young,David Bowie, Elton John,The Kinks, The Who, The Clash, The Cure, The Police, Talking Heads, KISS, Van Halen, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Amy Winehouse, Guns N Roses,
Thanks! You are right. A bit hard to compare. The Beatles were like a super group. Three amazing songwriters creating music together. Led Zeppelin is a better band than Lynyrd yes, some say they are the greatest rock band ever. But again greatness is many times measured by that melancholic pop standard. Beatles went psychedelic too, but it was still mostly pop rock. It is not that hard to put out some baroque pop stuff out when you have George Martin as a producer and i think Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is a very overrated album and lacks soul. Pet Sounds is much better in my opinion. But most of their other albums are amazing.
Music went less boring in 70's and got very ambient in 80's. It got better all the time i think. Music got more serious and less dumb. From your very good list, i think Queen, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin could be considered as better bands than The Beatles. And i would add Coldplay to your list too.

Nirvana is a really tight thing. Their albums sound so nasty and delicious. One of the baddest bands together with Smashing Pumpkins, Megadeth, SOAD and Black Sabbath.

The Beatles weren't really good musicians though, they would be like autotune musicians compared actual musicians from their day.
Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.

Even if this were hard--that is how it is ! Assuredly, however, by far the harder fate is that which strikes the man who thinks he can overcome Nature, but in the last analysis only mocks her. Distress, misfortune, and diseases are her answer.

While not as technically skillful as highly trained musicians, they were creatively brilliant, and had the single gift I admire most in all of music, the gift of song.

I used to be a Beatles fan back in 2017, but even then I would find them overrated.

I like every single artist you’ve listed over the Beatles,
I’d also add Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac.

Generally speaking contemporary music such as Rock and Pop does not require particuliarly great musicianship compared to more complex styles such as Classical or Jazz.

The comparison of the Beatles to autotune musicians is far from accurate in my oppinion.
Today we have lots autotune Pop stars that have maybe a look and some charisma but without the tchnology and some musicians /songwriters propping them up ... they would not have too much to offer.
That was not the case for the Beatles , yes George Martin did a lot to enhance and make some of their albums very interesting.
However the Beatles were great songwriters in my oppinion and their musicianship was adequate for the styles they played.
They were only around for 8 years in that time they made 12 studio albums that were mostly all pretty great.
