It's because the American accent is what you sound like when you speak English lazily, and don't pronounce t's, d's and other letters correctly. It sounds a bit silly to us, and your accent can also be much more nasal and whiny than we are used to.

I would NEVER guess her mother is mixed being latina or not coz she doesnt look like one. I dont know what youre talking about, I dont have nothing to do with it. Ive been the opposite, when someon is white I know and I say. Her mother looks fully white. I dont think her father looks fully European, he being interviewd:
