They have done studies at that point, showing that low a body fat ironically has the same health implications as those who are morbidly obese. It's impossible to maintain because it's near death.

Everything extreme tends to be negative. Starting with size zero models and similar lifestyles that lead to building as little body fat as possible. This is health threatening and classified as diseas by any professional doc.

As a rule, men are advised not to go below the limit of less than eight percent body fat. Already ten percent are borderline. For women, the limit is already set at 18 percent body fat. Definitely dangerous if it sinks to 15 percent.

I thoroughly agree that being morbidly obese is bad for your health. But by the same token, being too lean has the same health affects as being morbidly obese. This is just a fact. If you wonder why people can't maintain 2 or 3% body fat, it is because they are near death's door at that point, and the body has a protection mechanism against reaching that point without feeling ill affects. I would never go below 10% body fat. Ideally men should be between 12-20 % and women should be 25-35%.

The male percentage is about right (ideal range is more like 10-19%, but you can go higher if you're muscular and fit) but come on, 35% body fat is fat, even on a woman. 15-25% for women. Maybe 30% if she has an exceptionally lucky build.

This sort of proves my point that 25% is not the minimum. However these percentages are also educated guesses.

According to the American council on exercise, the athletic-fit range for women is 14-24% (so I was off by 1%) whereas for men it's 6-17%.

These are the ideal ranges. 35% for women is well into the 'obese' range.

The woman that looks the least attractive to me is the one that is 10-12% Yikes. That is some ugly. The 50% woman does not look good either. But at least she has boobs.

don't necessarily hate them because I'm pretty sure many of them have the equivalent of a mental disorder and they probably can't control their urges. I'm certainly disgusted by their presence though

Nope. I dislike fat acceptance movements, though. Being fat shouldn't be something that society ever tries to make "normal", and people should always recognise that for their own health it's an overwhelmingly negative thing to be overweight. I sympathise with people who gain weight due to extreme stress or mental issues, but nobody should ever just feel compelled to say "well okay, this is who I am now" and not express any desire to change themselves again for the better. I think it would actually be better for people who are fat if society shamed them into losing the weight if they are not otherwise inclined to do so themselves.

And I'm saying this as someone who used to be extremely overweight, and got down from almost 130kg to 83kg (current weight) within a year (I'm 6'2/188cm). 99.9% of the population don't have an excuse for being overweight, everybody's able to do what I did and in fact take it even further. Just do the right thing for yourselves and your bodies, ffs.
