What for ? Spain is not a real nation, it's a crumbling fake state where even half of its citizens don't support the "national" team in the World Cup.

Galicians go with Portugal, Catalonians go with Argentina, Basques go with whatever and many Castillians only care about Real Madrid.

At least in Italy there's a true passion for the Nazionale.

Yes, it is true, not all but many.

Lots of Galicians prefer to support Portugal, many Catalonians (Barça fans) go with Argentina because of Messi (FC Barcelona president Bartomeu is one of them) and want Spain to lose, and many Basques want Spain to lose. Anti Spain sentiment is very strong among a good share of their population.

Yes, more or less so. Even if you pay attention where Spain plays their home matches you will see that they only play in a few regions (mostly play in Andalucía, Alicante/Elche and Madrid), for example they never play in the regions with more independentist feeling like Catalonia or Basque country, and rarely play in Galicia or even Valencia (in the comunidad Valenciana they play mostly in the south of that region, in Alicante or Elche).
