Erdogan needs to go I'm sick and tired of that prick hes been in power for far too long. Not sure how many MENA supporters he got but Turkey is officially a shit hole thanks to Erdogan bringing in Millions of Syrian refugees into Turkey. Erdogan is a two face he turns on his neighbors instead of supporting them that's what happens when you kiss the U.S ass cheeks the damage is done and Erdogan fucked it all. If Erdogan the two face allied with Assad in the first place Syria would not have been torn apart or be in the hands of the Iranic Kurds trying to carve up Syria and create Kurdistan. All I have to say is the modern Sultan is a piece of shit reminds me of the Ottoman era the dirty Sultans having Roman orgies with foreign girls at the top kapi palace while the native citizens were slaves under their rule and Erdogan is no different hes trying to be the modern Sultan of Turkey. I'll probably get allot of down votes from my fellow Turks for saying this and they will probably call me a fake Turk.

Still, they were even less Turkish.

They implemented (Çandarlı family) Iranian high bureaucracy system dating back Sassanid times. The defter system came from them. (defter is Farsi word for good reason).
The most widely used title, by the Ottomans or the folk was not emperor but Padishah (Sassanid title too). People didn't use 'Sultan, title which is used today, they always used Padishah.
What was the Turkish word they never used? Khagan?

    Ottomans used Turkish title Khan.

Khagan title was long gone. Beside, anyone couldn’t be khagan.
Oguz Turks never inherited it, later even Gengis Khan wasn’t Khagan but only Khan. Only Ashina royals could only be khagan.

Padishah and Emperor are lower in rank and more open to meritocracy, as anyone reaching power could become.
Khagan has stricter rules as he used to represent Heaven on earth. Only few people, some people from some families could become Khagan. Turks or Seljuks didnt have them, Khazars had them.

Anyway... Ottomans were culturally a lot more similar to Sassanids than to their Byzantine enemies.
As a matter of historical reality.

Khan is not originally Turkic title but rather Mongolic springing from Rouran Khaganate. Türks adopted "Khan" title from Mongolic peoples.

Khan was Turkic not Mongolic. Mongols were backward people who never had own script. Oldest known khans were Turks from 6th Century such as Bumin. Mongols got script only in 13th century, and they hired Uighurs for that. Nothing new or proper to their nation was developed by them.

Khagan means Khan of Khans. It has Celestial Choseness status.
For example, Khagan didn’t rule Khazarians daily affairs, he was charismatic leader. The number 2 of the state, khaganbek was ruler.
Byzantine Emperor or Sassanid Shah or Arabian Caliphs were equal level, not with Khagan but the Khaganbek.
Khagans were thus superior to Roman emperors.

Ottomans were marcher Lords (Beys) of Seljuks. That is how they grew. Seljuks started in early 900’s as army officers in Khazarian army. So, no way Turkish people could have khagans.

    Meritocracy not enough.
Carving out Empire out of nothing was not enough too for that title. You simply needed to be from a family which was chosen by Tengri, the celestial God.

Khagan? sounds like a bowel movement to me.

Never heard Khagan(Kağan) but Khan(Han) and Hakan were commonly used Turkic titles in Ottoman Empire.

"Meritocracy"??? Shut the fuck up Bori, we all know that you are fierce supporter of hereditary rule. You should banish that word from your vocabulary. Turks should follow the rule of the man who is the son and grandson and so on of their previous leaders. Meritocracy is going to ruin you, don't buy that shit!
