I don't think that all S.Germans are equal. Those of the eastern part are certainly leaning toward Austrians not W.Germans.

S.Germans of the western part are relatively close to some French populations although plot more a little bit more northern !

I don't think that all S.Germans are equal.

South germans are pretty same, only eastern part of Austria + danube swabians in Hungary have significant slavic admixture, but it's a small population compared to all south germans. Northernes are more scandinavian admixed, southernes have more celtic-roman ancestry, and basically every german are celto-germanic.
