HGDP Sardinian is the reference sample for West Med component on K36 so trust me, they can come off showing really high West Med.

Bare in mind that I used the reference sample. Other Sardinian samples shouldn't be as isolated as this one but it is still expected West Med to be their highest component and well above any other European or non-European ethnic group. West Med basically peaks among Sardinians since they are the reference for this component.
