In the 15th-16th centuries the name of the village appears mentioned in various documents. It was preserved as a Romanian village in all times. In 1779, the town was annexed to the Torontal County, which belonged to the end of the First World War, when the counties of Torontal and Timis were united. In 1813 the Orthodox church was built with the patron saint "Saint Parascheva.
