Default Anger and extremism are Rajasaic not Tamasaic

Anger is Rajas not Tamas. Violent rage = Rajas Anger is inward-to-outward explosion. It is forward projection energy. All Rajas. Sports people resort to fights due to anger. That's why Kshatriyas are Rakshasa. Bitter resentment might be a mixture of Rajas and Tamas. Like Ghosts/Ghouls etc aka Pisascha. Think of ghosts crying in front a mirror, haunting, obssessing etc

Drunken "rage = Tamasaic very dark, miserable, lethargic, hellish

Hulk = Rajas/Kshatriya. Warrior battle cry = Rajasaic

Ghosts/Pisacha/Tamasaic entities resemble dead people. They infest decomposing, pungent, dreary places. They exude depressing energy.

    Rajasaic/Angry example

The Hulk, throwing around with tremendous force, lunging forward, whole body vibrating

Hindu Goddess Durga is Rajasaic, and that is why she is worshipped by Rajputs and Mahratas. Even the Sikh symbol, Khanda is a Shakta symbol.

Angry tigers roaring, Lions and Tigers are also the mounts of the Goddess.

Isn't anger an expression of imbalance and therefore tamas?

Rajasaic anger tends to be explosive, domineering and oppressive. It courses throughout the body. It's a feeling of wanting to be unleashed. Anger usually translates into something physical. Angry people are the hardest to restrain.
