Muslims don't enjoy a bad image in the world, arabs enjoy.
If people want that another group of people (religion or race, country) have an bad image, it is easy to make it look that way. It makes it easier looking bad if the, in this case, muslims, helps them with it without realizing it. Social media, propaganda.. Most of the muslims in some countries don't even live by their religion. They live by culture and are making things up, saying that that is Islam. It's dumb.. I believe that this is one of the biggest reasons why Muslims have an bad image and it's sad.

Arabs and the Wahhabis have the monopoly on Islam. They would see Balkanian villager Muslims like you as half kaffirs.
Arabs see Islam as Jews see Judaism.
According to Arab standards, your Muslimness can be complete only if you Arabize.

Islam's most followers are from different races and ethnicities having loads of different languages and cultures. However, in the mindset of the Arabs those people don't represent Islam.
In that sense, comparing Islam to Christianity which is popular faith is wrong. Islam is part like Judaism for the Arabs, that's a national Arab religion. So, the people who take this religion must strive to look like Arabs with their cloth, language, culture according to Arab standards.
Levantines and North Africans became Arabs.
Why other Muslims don't become Arabs?

I don't care arabs views but religion and race are different things. A person can be both italian and muslim or both arab and christian, no need to assimilated by religion's ethnic culture. Everyone can believe any religion that they want, no matter their race.Islam's most followers are from different races and ethnicities having loads of different languages and cultures.
