The Muslim Serbs and Bosniaks took the Islam from Turks.
Turks took Islam back in 10th century when Turks were living in what's today western Kazakhstan. There was no contact with Arabs. Turks were converted by some Khwarezmians and Sogdians.
Later Turks reached Turkey and went until Balkans without entering in contact with Arabs. And the Muslim Balkanians became Muslim with that process. No Arab involvement at all.

Now, the dudes from the desert have a problem with this.
They think that after all, the originally non-Arab Levantines and North Africans Arabized. How come others do not Arabize despite being Muslims?

Wahhabism and overall mainstream Arabs proceed with the revision of this process and think there are some problems. The status of 'universal religion, of Islam is questioned thus.

Thus, being Muslim requires that you must wear like them, act like them, shave like them, live like them...

You are right, but i think most of turks and balkan muslims don't care about this ummah thing. Also, they don't support jihad in any way too.
