So frightened are they at the prospect of even being called a "racist" that they put that little disclaimer on at the end when it should be totally unwarranted if we are truly "post racial" and "see past race." I mean, all the person did was call him "ugly." I've been called much worse. No disclaimers due to my ethnicity.

But you know, if you think about it and read between the lines, the fact that that person wrote "and its not because he is black" absolutely reflects a guilty conscience. I mean, if you're not feeling guilty about calling a black man "ugly" because you truly don't think blacks are uglier on the whole, why do you even need to clarify? I mean, no one ever feels guilty about calling generally attractive races and ethnicities "ugly." That is very telling. You never hear:

"not that all Swedish people are ugly."

or

"not that all Danes are ugly."

The subtext to the comment is almost "this guy is ugly and we all know it's because he has those primitive features a lot of blacks have that are not desirable especially next to this woman's beauty but it's mean to think that way so I'll try not to think that while also pointing out the obvious."
