Go with Ancestry, it has to most ethnicity information and can pinpoint specific migrations and populations, for example it gave me: Germans in the Midwest (Specifically from Northwest Germany and the Netherlands) and then Eastern Kentucky settlers and Early Appalachian settlers, all of which were correct.

They are also doing a big update right now.

At the end of the day, no matter where you take your test you can upload your results to Gedmatch and you can really learn more about your ethnicity there.

There are plenty of other sites you can upload them to as well for ethnic and health info regarding your genes.

i would recommend 23andMe as my AncestryDNA results were pretty shitty lol. then again i am mixed so i dont blame them but still with the reference populations they have i assume they should be able to do a good job lol.

also its taking damn long for them to roll out their update to everybody. either roll it out to everyone or dont at all, damn lmao

I'd say 23andMe. Ancestry DNA does not do a haplogroup analysis and in FTDNA you need to order that separately. Moreover the 23andMe microarray chip is a customized Global Screening Array, from Illumina. This is done specially to cater to both sets of individuals who typically do DNA testing. One who are strictly interested in Ancestry and the other who use their raw to get more health and lifestyle information.

FTDNA was terrible for me. There results were incomplete, and it was overpriced. I don't mind paying more, if I get better information, but it was actually inferior to AncestryDNA and 23andMe.

I'd also recommend 23andMe. As already mentioned 23andMe is great for haplogroup information, and it provides a lot of ongoing services at no extra charge, but AncestryDNA is better for building a family tree.

23andme is fraud. They said based on my genes, I can't sing. And I'm a professional musician. So.. I really don't know.

23andme v5 gave me weird results. So I will try FTDNA. I hope will be better.
