    Default Workout routine thread

For the last 6 months or so I've been slacking bad with exercising. I'm slowly working back up to what i used to be doing.

My personal favorite exercises don't include lifting any weights. My workouts were typically:

These are done every other day. Example: day 1, day 2, day 1, day 2 etc. With breaks thrown in. This is all done within under an hour.

    Day 1:

    200 push ups
    200 sit ups
    100 pull ups
Possibly some other thrown in exercises like dips or flutter kicks.

    Day 2:

    Some form of running:

Sprinting 1/4 miles and resting for 90 seconds and different variants of this.

Running 1 mile as fast as you can. Resting for the time it took you to run the mile and repeating this 3x.

    Running 1.5 miles

    Running 5-6 miles.

Running 1-3 miles with a weighted vest.

I also switch it up between running on a track, through neighborhoods, hiking trails and sometimes the beach.

I throw in 100 or more body weight squats at the end.

    How about you guys?

Usually my routine is running anywhere from 5-12 miles, 3-4 times a week. I do also have a gym membership but I don't go often enough.

For the past several months, I've been stuck on the couch due to plantar faciitis and shin splints (a half-marathon that I didn't train properly for fucked me up).

Almost to the point now wher I can start jogging again, but doc says I need to wait a couple more weeks.

Thats a good workout, running is great. Ive never had shin splints before, what does it feel like?

Do you typically run outdoors or on a treadmill?

I run outdoors, usually. I find the sun beneficial to my mood.

Do you get bored doing all those squats and things? Whenever I try to do those things I just get distracted and bored, and quit after a few.

You must have mad upper body strength.

If your legs are kaput, you should leave your couch to do handstand pushups.

I agree about the sun. I tend to get very bored running on a treadmill. Ill only use it if the weather is bad. I like switching it up outside, as in running on a track, neighborhoods, hiking trails and even the beach sometimes.

I have to stay focused to complete it. I keep the timer running on my phone for reference and use it to track my rest times. I try my best to do these at a high intensity so that im always moving. This way it doesnt leave much room for distractions.

You can 'cheat'. If you cannot summon the needed 'élan' to lift your two legs up in the air without any support, you can lift them by sliding them upwards along a wall located behind you.
