One of the Piedmontese branches of my family is also related to nobility, but from the Lombards. It's my great-grandmother, who was from the area around Tortona and her surname, though of Ligurian origin, was related to the surname Canefri, a Longobard family that moved to Italy around the VI century.

I don't know if the surname is noble or not, but it's related to nobility. In fact, the majority of the Longobards that came to Italy were noblemen. My great-grandmother looked phenotipically Nordic, so it wouldn't be a surprise if she descended from the Longobards.

if you have a Longobard surname you can be sure it came from if not high ranking noble at least military man (but those also often became barons and marquees) so quite the probability

I monarchici erano in origine monarchici perché erano quelli che picchiavano e ammazzava o di più con Carlo Magno e da lì si sono accaparrarsi tutte le terre.. Appunto proprietari terrieri
