As you know, very bad things happened in eastern Turkey during WWI.
Kurdish and Zaza gangs clashed with Christian Armenian gangs in the region. There were much casualties. Kurds ultimately won.
Armenians who survived were ones who were escorted by Turkish military troops.
Others hid their identity or were simply absorbed into Kurds.
Let's take the example of the Muş province. Muş was half-half Armenian and Kurdish in 1915. Now it's... mainly Kurdish.
This forum has also an Armenian member who's from there.
Armenians who were hiding in that area now dare to speak up and explain what they suffered.
Armenians now have a cultural center in Muş.
