Default Is it also worth doing ancestryDNA?

I have done 23andme and was very happy with my results. They reflected my paper trail Perfectly.

I uploaded to gedmatch and my results were pretty decent for some calculators and terrible for others. I even checked the reference sheets provided. I know the V5 chip is new and isn't the greatest at the moment for those calculators.

With this being said, is doing an AncestryDNA test worth it? Will it give me better/more accurate/different results on gedmatch?

Nothing beats gedmatch. If you are happy with your 23 results then you might not be missing out. The genetic communities feature is extremely interesting. maybe wait until it goes on sale or gets cheaper

Honestly, im not a huge fan of gedmatch. The single populations are good but I don't like how it can be so misleading with the mixed populations section. It continuously tries grouping me in with populations im not even close too, almost like its just trying to fill in the blanks. I know this from checking the reference sheets and my paper trail.

I guess im mainly curious how the ancestryDNA will compare to the 23andme V5 (since gedmatch is basically not collaborated for it yet) on gedmatch. I wonder if the differences are big enough so that the purchase would be worth it.

I like 23andMe, but AncestryDNA provides the most complete reference sources for building a family tree of ancestral relatives.

    2 questions:

which DNA composition break down was the best in your opinion?

I see you have German heritage, does ancestry have a good source of German records from Germany?
Id be most interested in my German heritage and family that stayed in Germany but that stuff clearly wouldn't be recorded in the US.

Personally IMO, i would never buy AncestryDNA, it's shitty asf for my ethnic breakdown. Also their ways of rolling out updates are weird as fuck, many people have received their update but where the fucc is mine? Either give the update 2 everybody or dont at all.

Also this is what they gave me, and if you look under my Username you can see that my real ancestry is far from what AncestryDNA gave me.

    Great Britain 60%
    Ivory Coast/Ghana 14%
    Cameroon/Congo 8%

    Low Confidence Regions
    Middle East 3%
    Mali 3%
    Finland/Northwest Russia 3%
    Senegal 2%
    Asia Central 2%
    Scandinavia 2%
    Europe West 1%
    Native American 1%
    Iberian Peninsula <1%
    Benin/Togo <1%

they gave me ONLY 3-6% Middle eastern, 2-4% central asian, and no fking north african this test is really bad tbh, and its taking wayyy to long with their update. Also they gave me 60-72% for britain, which is higher than that of a fucking native of britain, which is completely insane, their european they gave me is way too high, my MENA is way too low, and i have too many low confidence regions so i assume ancestryDNA doesnt even know what they are doing

i would recommend 23andMe above any ancestry company.

Yes I wanna do it because it's the cheapest and looks the best because the most people used it
