In fact, the Bible tells people to pray directly to God for forgiveness.

Matthew 6:9-13 ~ 9 “This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

I think there is another verse that's relevant but I can't remember it now.
This passage alone debunks this whole Protestant myth:

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
    James 5:16

You can confess sins to anyone. God will listen either way (assuming he exists).

Im done here since its no use arguing about stuff especially with hardcore people. You cant change their minds.
Christians will keep fighting with each other over such things and it will benefit them zero.

    In persona Christi et Ecclesiae...

The very first Bishops ( who knew the apostles and from whom they learnt many other teachings..) said that you can confess your sins only to:: In persona Christi et Ecclesiae...that is a Priest with valid apostolic succession...

Do you think that the Bishops who met Saint Peter Saint Paul.. Saint Andrew ect ect were wrong ?

    John 20:19-23

    Jesus Appears to His Disciples

19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.

21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

    APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION....

That's because you don't know how gracious and forgiving God is. But only if the sinner sincerely repents and turns from his ways!

You are suggesting that God is somehow bad for forgiving sinners... What hope is there for you then? All of us have sinned, we all deserve to go to hell. But God is gracious and loving and forgives us of all sin if we repent and accept Jesus as our Lord and savior.

You can do that as well today. Do you want to go to Jesus and let him cleanse you and set you free? I can pray for you if you want. You seem to be carrying a heavy burden.

Nonsense, you are misinterpreting scripture, and viewing only a few select verses in isolation. What he is referring here to, is obviously we confess to someone if we have harmed them, or done something against them. It doesn't talk about confessing random sins to random people... that's an illogical interpretation that doesn't agree with the rest of the Bible. I can't believe that intelligent people can be so deceived, so easy. Let me make it clear to you: your priests and popes have been lying to you. And it's not a "Protestant myth", but the word of God, the inspired scriptures. The Catholics are the ones who are myth creators and deceivers.

You are not even sure that God exists... yet you are trying to teach us about how to serve him (lol). You cannot make this stuff up. But yes, that's probably part of the problem... people who don't know God and don't even believe in him, trying to make up church dogma. It doesn't work like that buddy.
