Default 1/2 of the global population lives in 7 countries

As of this month, the world’s population is 7.63 billion, according to the United Nations, which celebrates World Population Day today. More than half of all people around the globe (3.97 billion) live in just seven countries, according to the UN’s estimates. China has the world’s largest population (1.42 billion), followed by India (1.35 billion). The next five most populous nations – the United States, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan and Nigeria – together have fewer people than India.

Quite shocking. This is embarrassing for India. I thought the gap between India and China was atleast a 100-150 million but its narrower that that. Just looked online and in another 4 years India's supposed to beat china as the most populous country.

I understand the region is fertile but I just dont get how South Asia can possibly support so many people.

TBF, Pakistan will probably have bigger issues than India. The country is largely arid/semi-arid and there is not enough water to go around.

tbh india's fertility is not bad. Its definitely heading in the right direction with its family planning. Other than pakistan, south asia in general has a decent fertility rate.
south india especially where its below 2 children/women. BIMARU region has the higest fertility and they already have heavy population. high fertility in northeast is ok cause they have low population but UP/Bihar are...nvm. They both are the shittiest states in india. If they had good development, it wouldnt matter. they could manage but thats not the case at all.

tbh population distribution isnt that big of an issue with india. if you look at china, 95% of their population lives in eastern 1/3-1/2 of the country and they're doing fine development wise. Their population density is roughly the same as india. maybe india is still more dense even if we account for empty half of china but still close enough imo. south asia just is horrible at managing that distribution i guess.

First off, stop talking like MDL. Your grammar is better than that lol.

Anyway, yea I tend to forget that most of China's population lives in the eastern part and that vast areas are borderline uninhabitable desert and mountains or cold(northern China). Still, China's fertility is probably better in check compared to India's so Im not too worried about them.

Also, I wish those central states in India would have martial law to keep them in check. They are the weakest link in the country.

And god damn, wtf is going on in Pakistan. The country is headed for disaster. Illiterate fucks.

Probably the prediction of major human accents in China and India. It will shrink the agricultural regions.
