While I do see some revival of Christianity there, still think they have a long way to go. Why?

Many Russians are still into NeoLeninism or NeoStalinism or general Soviet nostalgia (around half)

Christianity is only ~50% in Russia. (41% being Orthodox).

Another 25% identify as spiritual but not religious (this category is seen in the USA too).

As one author about Russian Orthodox explained, they too are divided. And their is some government influence there.
This goes back to Peter I of Russia who made the Church a part of the state.
And finally the effects of Bolshevism and Socialism still are felt there.

Imo the Russians have potential, but its still to early to tell on the religion side.
If all the East Slavic countries joined EU, then maybe EU would become a bit more normal. (Maybe the EU will collapse who knows).
(Im aware there are still abortion problems, but other issues are somewhat traditional)
