Who do you support in the War Between the States?

There could be a third option for the Poll, that of Neutrality. Especially because Maryland, Kentucky and Missouri were still Neutral, at the outset of the war (in 1861).

The next war between the states will be Democrat vs. Republican, or, Texas vs. everybody else.

Oh, I didn't answer the question. In the civil war, I had ancestors that fought for the confederacy. If I would choose a side, obviously, I'd go with the union. Sorry to my folks.

Union because they had lots of free blacks foughting for them. The confederacy had no blacks on their side and they wanted to keep slavery alive.

The Union most likely. The South was very racist, I don't think they would like Arabian brown people so

The Union wouldn't either, and Lincoln said negroes were an inferior race.

No even many blacks from the south fled to the north and fought as free black men on the side of the union.

Probably, but honestly I don't think the South would put me in the same category as Africans more like Mexicans, Amerindians and such or if they know I was Mideastern in a different category. Though the Union did have it's racist elements they were still more tolerant than the South.
