Yes, it is a well known fact that native French are not particularly good at football and 90% of their best players are of immigrant descent:
- Kopa, Platini, Tigana, Cantona, the Zidane generation, this generation etc.

If there was no immigration in France, they would have won nothing, and that is a fact.

With the exception of 2 or 3 cities that had passion for football, it was never really a football nation. It was the immigrants that developed a football culture there and brought real passion for the game.

It happens that football players usually come form poor backgrounds and a sporting career it is one of the way out of poverty for many poor kids/families.

Besides native french don't really have that much of a football culture and most white kids nowadays mostly play football in their Playstation or XBox.

French team in Mexico 86 was mostly made up of ethnic French.

Some user said in another thread that there are lots of ethnic French playing football through all France and many of the black players are middle class. Is unbelievable that in a country of 67 millions of inhabitants, with a majority of ethnic French (despite the all non-native European and other European immigrants) there are not good ethnic French players.
