200 years ago 1/4 of Serbs in present day central Serbia were muslims. In the first half and mid of 19th century they moved mosty to Bosnia. Majority of muslims from eastern Bosnia are refugees from central and western Serbia. Their ancestors escaped to Bosnia ahter the Serbian Orthodox uprisings.
Family of Alija Izetbegović originated from Belgrade, they moved to Bosnia in 1862 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alija_...63;#Early_life Alčija Izetbegović declared as muslim Serb until 1961.
Family of Bosnian muslim general Atif Dudaković https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atif_Dudaković originated from Krupanj in western Serbia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krupanj they escaped to Bosnia after second Serbian uprising 1815.

Orthodox Church did everything in it's power to demonize those people, while few sane Serbian people tried to stop that.
Orthodox Church wanted "exclusive rights on Serbian name" ... Patriarch Pavle said: "Only Orthodox is Serbian" he was biased against non-Orthodox Serbs,
SPC contributed directly to creation of Bosniak nations. Even Alija Izetbegović ordered that "all muslims are Bosniaks" even if that had 0 sense whatsoever.

I might pose on Forums as Serb cause I recognize that fact and I am very well educated on that subject, but imagine today ordinary non-Orthodox when you say to him
(either Catholic or Muslim) that he has Serbian ancestry he wants to kill you.

Ordinary people are very illiterate and consider every comment as DIRECT ATTACK.. people are unreasonable on Balkans and you know that well.

That's why we have Montenegrin Nation, Bosniak Nation, Serbian Nation, Croatian Nation, Kosovo Nation etc... bunch of barbarians,.

South Slavic who were Orthodox were all Serbs, so they who became Muslim from Orthodox are Muslim Serbs.

There were probably some 3rd party Slavic groups that were neither Serb or Croat (but they aren't documented anywhere), Bogomil were Bulgarian (If I remember)
and Bulgarians have many Slavic tribes .. so who knows.. it's a shoot in the dark.

But a significant % of Bosniaks are Serbs, not common folk but Serbian Aristocracy. (Brankovići, Vilići, Vukovići itd..)
