Music is international you know. I love country music and I also sing it even though my ancestors have nothing to do with that culture.

Absolutely. I'm of Greek descent live in the South and many of my family members are bonafide redneck/crackers. They actually embarass me at times. So yes Italians could be rednecks just as other ethnicities have assumed that role.

Italian Americans are yankees. They all have roots in NY. Gaga have a NY accent and yet she sings pseudo country. Ariana is from Florida but her family are from NY

My musical tastes are quite eclectic. I do listen to country music, but also various other genres. I don't think it's a good idea to dismiss an entire genre of music. For example, although I am not generally fond of rap, but are certain rap songs I do like. Perhaps I could even explore that genre more, but that doesn't mean I am going to become a wigger. I would say the same for country music. Listen to country if you want, but I don't think Italians in this country should try to adopt a "redneck" subculture.
