IDK why to be honest. It is a recurring problem in certain East Asian subcultures, and they keep pushing the effeminate, non-masculine men. It's annoying to me. The past generations of East Asians were more masculine, the newer generations are getting more and more feminine. It's gross.

In certain regions, especially the more Northern, they are more masculine. In the Southern regions, people tend to have this non-confrontational behavior. It seems like the less educated men are more masculine.

I think it's more because when a society urbanizes and becomes more developed, people live softer lives and men do not have to be as masculine.

Yes, these are good points. Other reason can be that in a modern world, there is a lot of pressure from society. People work a lot, so they don't have many time to take care of a family. Also wich the acelerated life of the urban areas, many men are always bored and stressed, so they feel less will to sex and because they don't have many time, they simply give up on having a woman and decide to live just for themselves, this way they don't have the need to be masculine and can relax. It is a way of liberating themselves of a sufocating society.
