I saw Portugese version of it and it seemed pretty funny. I think we can give it a try.

So let's say the average Turk has 5-15% 'Siberian/Turkic/Central Asian' ancestry.

And let's take the low on that so someone who is 100% Turkish but only carries 5% in their DNA.

If this person were to marry a non-Turkish person, would the % even show in their children's DNA? Maybe not right? So your Father or Grandfather could be 100% Turkish based on the 5-15% scale range, and you could end up with like 0-0.5% which could make you think you're not Turkish at all.

    Is that right?

No, it would divided to two.

It would be around 2.5% Siberian.

But when talking about a Turkish person, not only Siberian component defines it.

Someone who has Turkish father can easily see it on his Genetic results.

If so, that puts a lot of doubt on autosomal dna results because to me, it's less important what genes you yourself carry, than it is what genes actually exist in your family history. But it seems inevitable that the % would drop generation by generation, when mixing is involved in your family.

But genes are kind of random right? So you may not get exactly half, you may get more genes from your mother's non-Turkish side for example.

Side note: I definitely agree about that's not the defining factor of a Turk, but from what I've read, many people say it's the clearest way to separate the 'original' Turks vs the newer immigrants to Turkey. If that makes sense

    No, you get exactly half.

But Genetic tests might fail to map the genes correctly.
