How similar are (phenotypically) the populations of Britain and Spain?

Genetical distance in the european case can't be very predictive. Nobody said that Brits or Iberians are completely different, but I will recall a fact : most Brits are even closer to some Eastern Euros than to Spaniards.

Also Brits have specifical looks and phenotypes that aren't found very easily outside of it.

There isn't one country in Southern Euro that look even "barely" close to Brits on average.

I didn't imply that Spaniards look close to Brits on average, but there is some overlap. Lots of Spaniards/Portuguese, as individuals, wouldn't look completely alien in Britain and vice versa.

I do not understand why they are always compared these populations, the Iberians are genetically and phenotypically closer to any other western continental european than to the United Kingdom

There is an Atlantic connection but a lot more limited than some people try to promote.

Some Spanish are fair certainly and some brits have an iberian look, particularly in Wales and Cornwall, but in most places the similarity is limited. I put 20% on the poll.

Based on Spanish players in the Premier League, id say that those that pass easily include Juan Mata, De Gea, Xabi Alonso, Azpilicueta, Ander Hererra, Marcus Alonso, Fernando Lorente, Gérard Deulofeu, Nancho Montreal, Alberto Moreno, these guys definitely look like brits easily, more so than uber French guys like Olivier Giroud.

What percentage of the Spanish population look like the players listed above? Would they represent a purer native population?

People from Spain that can pass as typical English? Maybe 15-20%.
...that can pass as atypical English (dark britons)? Maybe 60-70%
...that can pass as dark people like Sean Connery or that caveman with the beard (don´t remember his name)? Probably 80%.

We have a sort of own stock (very Med looking) that are like 20% of our population that could never pass there like Xavi the soccer player, but I even don´t consider to be White like 8-10% of native Spaniards (like Busquets and similars).

But ALL types of brits exist in Spain, even in anecdotical numbers. People like Charlie Hunnam of Sons of Anarchy maybe are like 0.001% of the Spaniards. I even pass as a "perfect" Scandinavian (said by them), so go figure.

BTW Diego Costa is brazillian, a mulatto or quadron. He played for Spain because he was given the nationality.

I mean, maybe not EXACTLY like Charlie Hunnam because they would be twins, but with a sort of very similar appareance like Peter Crouch and Nacho Monreal.

The most rare types would be ultra-light blonde like Boris Johnson but they are rare even in England, and I have met 2 Spaniards with that kind of hair and blue eyes (I had that hair tone until I was like 12 or so, now I am médium blonde).

And we have Brunn in Spain, I already posted some, and also Keltic nordic (Nacho Monreal as an example). This is one Brunn Spaniard (it is in the Brunn subthread) and there are more examples:

People should stop thinking as if the southern you go the darker you are (in Europe). We have tonns of people (always in the minority range) that are indistinguible from northerners and there are also tonns of northerners that are as swarthy as the darkest of our darkest (Sean Connery, Catherine Z Jones, and so on). Or even the swedish prince would pass here unnoticed, even millions are lighter than him (yes, I know he is part french but I guess that Scandinavians consider him to be White, so he would look average here).
