    Default Origin of the East-Meds?

For many populations on gedmatch, whether they are Turks, Lebanese, Italians and Greeks, East-Med is more often than not their highest component relative to all others. What specific region do you think this ancestry came from?

Anatolia? Levant? Kura-Araxes culture in the Caucasus?

Don't be a smart-ass and say "from the Eastern Mediterranean".

I guess it is also associated with Eastern Balkans such as Greeks, Bulgarians and Romanians.

It's a modern component which I think David from Eurogenes used Eastern Mizrahi Jews as a reference. Some academic Iraqi Jewish samples score like 50+ East Med on Gedmatch so I suppose he used the Iraqi Jews but it seems to peak in Levantine Christians and Samaritan Jews.
With ancient components it's quite high in both Levantine and Anatolian farmers. I don't think it's gonna be higher in ancient Mesopotamian remains who will probably score significant amount of Iran_N-like input.
