Greece is often not considered realy a Balkan country in the mainstream view
The Balkans are usually said to comprise Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo,[a] the Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia, while Greece and Turkey are often excluded. Its total area is usually given as 666,700 square km (257,400 square miles) and the population as 59,297,000 (est. 2002)

The Talmud tells us that the only language the Torah could be translated into elegantly is Greek.

Anatolia and the Levant.. though I couldn't say how those two interrelate in the narrative

Culturally speaking, the Greeks are too distinct to be a part of the Cultural Balkans, in the same way that Albania or Serbia or Romania are..

Granted, Romania and Albania are also distinct, but they are too proximate to the South Slavs to be considered a man apart, like Greece.

    Just my opinion.
